September 24 Ready for winter We've had very unusual weather this week - several days in the 40's and while snow was in the forecast, we didn't get a single flake in our area of town. I'm sorry to see summer go, but it does make me anxious for winter. I signed up for a knitting class since I've never formally learned. I haven't really knit much since I left Seattle and I this winter I want to get back into it. I figure this is a good time to make sure I've got good technique. I really wanted to make chili, but since we're leaving on a trip again (tomorrow) I didn't bother because there's always so many leftovers. Instead I got mexican gumbo from Qdoba - that was the day it was barely 40 degrees and they said everyone was getting gumbo. It's also been great to put on my bathrobe and slippers in the morning. I love being all bundled up. I got to wear several sweater this week too. It's always fun pulling out the winter wardrobe! I'm hoping when we get back from our vacation we'll get a month or two of autumn weather, but if it's straight to winter I won't be too upset. I honestly can't believe I'm saying that... I'm sure I'll be singing a different tune in February. Maybe it's all because I know we should get several weeks of nice weather on our vacation - Texas and South Carolina should be nice this time of year. I'm looking forward to seeing all my nieces and nephews. Plus this will be my first time to meet Sean, who was born at the end of July.
